No, Kemba… I’m not talking about UConn and all of your ridiculous “shock the world” talk, I’m talking about V – C – U !! How rad is VCU? How rad am I? I wrote a blog last week titled “Just Pencil VCU into the Final Four“. Sure, it made have been a little tongue in cheek. It may have simply been pointing out that they had already had an incredible run from a play-in game to the Sweet 16, and the Final Four was a serious stretch. 
But, guess what, that blog blew up LobShots on Sunday, and just like I said in that post, “cheers to you, VCU, for giving me and the entire nation the finger.” Seriously, unless you went to Kansas…how could you possibly have not have been cheering for them? Have you no heart? They are a no. 11 seed that had to play-in to even get to the round of 64. You can’t make this stuff up, folks. A true Cinderella story. Speaking of Cinderellas…if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the jerk that got all Final Four teams correct. It’s funny, I made a Sweet 16 joke about VCU being this years “Butler”, except that Butler was still in the tourney, so it didn’t really have the same ring to it. Welp, Butler’s still in it, a no. 8 seed… and Virginia Commonwealth University has definitely beat them at their own Cinderella game…even if they do lose in the Final Four. VCU is the Cinderella Story of the 2011 NCAA Tournament. Here’s to a championship, gentleman… I wish you luck.
