I met Michael Clarke Duncan court-side at a Lakers game a couple of years ago. I was pumped to shake his hand. His presence, and the size of his hand, were intimidating, but his smile was captivating. One thing I’ll never forget is how excited he got that I knew all three of his names. Genuine joy. Very sad to hear of his passing. Writing this blog, off the top of my head, I remembered him from Green Mile, Armageddon, Planet of the Apes, Daredevil, Sin City, and The Whole Nine Yards… as Frankie Figs. Here’s what I didn’t know… according to imdb, he was in an episode of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, which I couldn’t find a photo of… and Friday.
No biggie, just playing craps with Smokey. RIP, Big Mike.
