When these short documentaries are made… they oftentimes have a happy ending. Here? Not so much. Every turn of Matt Bush’s career/life is more depressing than the last. This was really difficult to watch, but to be honest, knowing what we know now, the most shocking thing about this video is what Kevin Towers had to say about Matt Bush when the Padres signed him. I listened to it 20 times… it’s truly incredible how wrong the Padres were.
Kevin Towers:
“One of the most special things about Matt Bush is the person Matt Bush. Somebody that I hope that will be a real positive role model… hope through winning championships… there will be more Matt Bushes, there will be people that want to emulate Matt Bush coming through the San Diego system.”
Unreal. He’s the polar opposite of everything KT said. Everything. Sad.
