Hahaha! Sharing is Caring! Starring Darnell Dockett, Katherine Webb, and AJ McCarron. What, you ask, would lead to such a tweet? I took some screengrabs from my phone between the Arizona Cardinals’ Darnell Dockett’s twitter and AJ McCarron’s twitter. AJ went on a terror responding to all the tweets after the game last night. It’s basically Dockett tweeting a number he claimed was his to Katherine Webb, and then joking about it, and then AJ responding, and Dockett responding saying she’s “our girl” because Dockett made her famous, blah blah blah. Try to follow along.
After all that… Dockett tweeted this photo.

Yeah… that’s why. The camera was on her about as much as it was on her boyfriend, AJ last night. Dude wins his second straight national title and all Brent Musburger can embarrassingly do is drool all over his girlfriend. Sure, she’s smoking hot, but good grief Brent, you’re 73… act like you’ve been there before.
Katherine Webb is the reigning Miss Alabama winner. The guys at Busted Coverage broke the news that she was dating AJ and that she’s an Auburn grad. That’s a major no-no in the South, right? Too pretty for anybody to get mad at AJ about it, I guess. A few weeks ago, she had about 1K twitter followers. Before the BCS title game last night? She had about 10k. Now? She’s got over 129K. That’s crazy.
Some great shenanigans went down with her and the rich and famous. Lebron James followed her, only to be berated by all of twitter for doing so… so he then unfollowed her. Whoops. Looks like you’re guilty now, even though all you did was do what everybody else was doing. Either way, it led to this meme.
I laughed. More shenanigans with AJ and his girl to come…

Ugh. Saban is the worst… but that’s hilarious. Not the outcome I was hoping for in that game. Embarrassing performance last night by Notre Dame. Genuinely awful. Absolutely beat down. But man, talk about some amazing behind the scenes stuff going on in the world of twitter. AJ McCarron, AJ McCarron’s mom, AJ McCarron’s girlfriend, Darnell Dockett, Kobe Bryant, Kate Upton, etc. More to come later on it… but it’s just so, so good.

So, Dan Shaughnessy, an old hack, wrote a The Boston Globe column that bashes the Texans. That’s Arian Foster’s twitter avatar, using that column as inspiration for his upcoming AFC playoff game. I hope it works. More than anything, I hope it works just so Shaughnessy can’t write another column about how he was right. He’s the worst. Suck it, Pats.

Meet Amara Baptist – she’s one of 23 people that Kobe Bryant is following on twitter. I know, I know… you might already be thinking this is a dumb blog, and you’re probably right. But for some reason, this intrigues me beyond my ability to describe it. I blogged about Kobe joining twitter, and I’ve tweeted about it a few times. So far, he’s listened to everything I suggested. He changed his stupid mamba-twitter-bird avatar, he started following more than just the initial few follows of people with only more than 1 million followers. (the first of which was the lovely and talented Alex Morgan – a wise, yet interesting choice, Kobe). I tweeted that it was a slap in the face to his Lakers teammates that he’s not following them, and now he’s following a handful of them: Pau, Dwight, Steve Nash, Steve Blake, Darius Morris.
So, what does all this matter? Well, it doesn’t really, but social media’s a weird thing. People read into things that shouldn’t be read into. People wanna know who’s following who and why? So on this premiere list of people (currently 23 – ZOMG MJ’s number!) that Kobe is following, the girl you see above, Amara Baptist, intrigued me. She’s got about 1k followers and she’s also following about 1k people. Pretty normal by twitter standards. She calls Kobe Bryant her ‘boo’ and loves the Lakers.
People will certainly read further into that tweet than is merited. But it begs the question, who is this mystery girl? I didn’t know… so I asked her… who are you?
That’s a pretty fantastic awesome answer. Looking at her profile, she’s tweeted a few comical things. Such as these two gems…
Pau doing the dougie, kinda sorta… and Anthony Davis’ unibrow portrayed by a knocked-out Pacquiao. Pretty funny. Oh, and if you think I’m invading on some poor random girl’s privacy, well, I’m not.
Anyway, I don’t have the time or energy to find out much more about her, but she’s in rare company as somebody that Kobe followed that wasn’t one of the rich and famous. Pretty cool for her… pretty random for Kobe. Or is it? Your move, Deadspin.
